Confidentiality and Privacy Procedure

Students’ privacy is a primary concern to York Construction Academy (YCA). YCA’s goal is to provide students with the highest level of service, confidentiality, and security. Accordingly, we have developed this policy in order to demonstrate how YCA collects, uses, communicates, discloses and makes use of personal information.
This policy describes the standardized practices for the protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) YCA collects and/or uses and so it is in compliance with government regulations and best practices for information security.

The Following Outlines Our Privacy Policy:

Online Forms / Website Privacy Policy
When filling out an online form on *yorkacademy.ca, students will be asked to provide personal information such as name, e-mail and phone number. Forms may contain mandatory or optional fields which are the minimum information needed to complete your inquiry.
If student is uncomfortable providing any of this information over the internet, alternative methods of service, such as phone calls, a letter or an e-mail to our school, are available.
This privacy policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use our service, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

To prevent such breaches, YCA secures all private information, ensuring only authorized personnel have access and that employees are trained in data protection. Personal information is never sent by fax, and thorough checks are performed before disposing of any documents. In the event of a breach, immediate actions include removing exposed data, shutting down affected systems for analysis, recovering improperly accessed records, and compiling lists of potentially compromised information. Affected individuals and responsible parties are identified, and detailed records of all actions taken are maintained.
Children’s Privacy
Our service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
