Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Policy
Purpose
This policy shows our commitment to creating a respectful, fair, and welcoming place for everyone.
We aim to make sure equity, diversity, and inclusion are part of everything we do, learning, teaching, research, and daily work.
Scope
This policy applies to all students, staff, faculty, and anyone connected to our organization.
It supports how we make decisions, create strategies, and interact as a community.
Policy Statement
We are committed to building an environment where everyone feels valued and included.
We aim to remove barriers, whether visible or invisible, and to support equity for all, especially for those who face discrimination or systemic challenges.
We believe that diversity in people, perspectives, and experiences strengthens our community.
Inclusion is not just about representation, it’s about ensuring that all individuals are respected, supported, and able to fully contribute and thrive.
Guiding Principles
1. Equity
We will treat people fairly and work to identify and remove barriers to participation and success.
We understand that fairness doesn’t always mean treating everyone the same, it means meeting people where they are and giving them the support they need.
2. Diversity
We recognize and value the variety of backgrounds, identities, perspectives, and experiences that people bring.
We celebrate this diversity as essential to innovation and growth.
3. Inclusion
We strive to create a culture where everyone feels welcome, heard, and respected.
Inclusive spaces allow everyone to engage fully and contribute meaningfully.
Our Commitments
- Promote inclusive hiring, admissions, teaching, research, and leadership practices.
- Review and revise systems, structures, and policies to reduce barriers and support equity.

racialized individuals, persons with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Responsibilities
Everyone in our community shares responsibility for advancing EDI.
Leadership at all levels must take active steps to model and promote equitable practices.
We expect all members of our community to contribute to a respectful, inclusive culture.

This policy will be reviewed every five years, or as needed, to ensure it remains effective and relevant.
Feedback from the community will be part of the review process.

Our Reviews
I am excited to go to work as I feel ready to be in construction industry.
All the instruction included indept knowledge both in virtual and practical classes along with professional experience.
I will recommend York Construction Academy if anybody wants to persu their career in Constructionbussiness.
Virtual: Nardo is very patient and always provides a great deal of knowledge from his experiences. You learn each of the stages of building a home, and learn some background about condos.
Practical: B and Milan are an absolute blast to learn from. They try to create the environment of you working on a job site so you are job ready when you graduate. They help you with better techniques and provide you with insight on how to use material best/efficiently.
My only advice would be to give your best in both the virtual and practical because you get what you put in. The instructors are a great resource but ultimately comes down to you if you want to learn the right way!
