York Construction Academy (YCA) opened in 2001 and is a Private Career College that is registered with the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities. YCA provides a hands-on learning experience for individuals eager to pursue a career in the Construction and Renovations Industry. YCA programs include a variety of aspects that also prepare students for the demand of new residential construction. With a 93% employment success rate, YCA will continue to help students build a successful career in the Construction and Renovations Industry. Working jointly with contactors, our programs are developed to adequately train workers for entry-level positions in the construction and renovations field. Our programs consist of 25% theory, and 75% percent hands on training.
Our student population includes young men/women looking to enter the construction trades industry, skilled trades' people seeking to obtain certification and newcomers to Canada with many years of experience and expertise in the construction trades. Many of the newcomers to Canada are highly educated professionals that are taking our programs in order to obtain hands on experience and prepare for Canadian Certification.
Upon graduation from the programs, students are granted certificates that provide legal proof of the profession obtained.
The contractors that have provided our students with employment, upon graduation, have given positive feedback about both the skill and professionalism of our graduates.
